Overview #
The Plate Freezer module is designed to efficiently manage the freezing of block materials. Each Plate Freezer is divided into rows with a defined capacity, ensuring proper allocation and tracking for smooth production workflows. Blast Freezer is used as a special case when Plate Freezers are fully occupied.
Steps for Plate Freezer Workflow #
1. Freezer Selection and Block Input #
- Navigate to the Plate Freezer > Record section.
- Select the desired Freezer and Freezer Row from the dropdowns.
- Choose the Product from the dropdown (populated based on the Block Entries section).
- Enter the Block Quantity to allocate blocks to the selected row.
- Click Check-In to confirm the allocation:
- The block quantity entered will be subtracted from the Block Entries section.
- Each freezer row can accommodate 12 blocks, with 16 rows available per freezer.
2. Freezer Table and Status Indicators #
The freezer table provides real-time updates on the freezing process:
- Status Indicator (Circle Icon):
- Red: Freezing not yet completed.
- Green: Freezing completed; material is ready for checkout.
- Orange: Multiple entries exist for the row. Each entry can be individually checked out via the View Modal.
- Table Columns:
- Status: Current freezing status.
- Freezer: Indicates the assigned freezer.
- Check-In Time: Time when the material was placed in the freezer.
- Check-Out (Estimated) Time: 150 minutes after check-in (+ extended time if applicable).
- Block Quantity: Quantity of blocks in the row.
- Batch Number: Batch identifier.
3. Actions Available in Freezer Table #
- View Details (First Action Button):
- Displays detailed information for each check-in, including freezing status and block information.
- If the row has multiple entries, individual entry details can be accessed.
- View Raw Material (Second Action Button):
- Shows the raw material’s origin, including batch details and associated block entries.
- Checkout Material (Third Action Button):
- If a single entry exists in the row, the Checkout Button is available directly in the table.
- If multiple entries exist, the Checkout Button is available in the View Modal for each individual entry.
- After checkout, the material is made available in the Live Production > Plate Freezer > Check Out Material section for packing operations.
- Change Location (Fourth Action Button):
- Enables transferring an entire row to another Plate Freezer or row.
- Partial transfers are not allowed; only full rows can be moved.
4. Extending Freezing Time #
- Enter the desired Extended Time (in minutes) at the top of the freezer table.
- Click Apply to add the extended time to the default 150 minutes.
- For example, if 30 minutes are added, the total freezing time will be 180 minutes.
- The extended time ensures adequate freezing before the material can be checked out.
5. Blast Freezer as a Special Case #
If all Plate Freezers are fully occupied:
- Blocks can be allocated into Pallets and moved to the Blast Freezer.
- Blast Freezer does not have rows, and pallets are stored directly within the freezer.
Notes #
- Plate Freezer Capacity: Each row can hold up to 12 blocks, with 16 rows per freezer.
- Material Allocation: Block quantity input in Plate Freezers automatically updates the source (Block Entries).
- Freezing Status Management: Monitor and manage material readiness based on real-time status updates.
This workflow ensures effective Plate Freezer management while addressing overflow cases using the Blast Freezer when necessary.
