The Product Family section allows administrators to define and manage groups of products based on specific attributes such as family type, category, sub-category, and shape. These attributes combine systematically to generate consistent product family names.
Product Family Name Generation Flow #
The name of a product family is generated using the following formula:
Family Type + Category + Sub-Category + [Shape]
- Family Type: The overarching group the product belongs to.
- Category: The primary classification of the product family.
- Sub-Category: A detailed grouping within the category.
- Shape (Optional): If the shape is “Block,” it is appended to the product family name. If no shape is selected, nothing is added after the sub-category.
Examples: #
- With Shape: COD ATLANTIC WILD CAUGHT + MINCE + PORTION + BLOCK
- Without Shape: COD ATLANTIC WILD CAUGHT + MINCE + PORTION
