Overview #
The Family Type module allows users to manage the raw material categories by defining family types with relevant details such as names, descriptions, and scientific names. This feature is part of the Product Modules section under Supplier Management.
Features #
- Family Type List
- Displays all the family types with the following columns:
- Name: The name of the family type (e.g., COD ATLANTIC, ATLANTIC HADDOCK).
- Description: A short description of the family type.
- Scientific Name (Sci Name): The scientific name for the family type.
- Displays all the family types with the following columns:
- Actions
- Edit (First Action):
- Opens a modal or form for editing the selected family type.
- Allows modifying the Name, Description, or Scientific Name.
- Delete (Second Action):
- Deletes the selected family type from the list.
- Includes a confirmation prompt before deletion to prevent accidental removal.

Add Family Type #
- Form Inputs
- Type Name: Input field for the family type name.
- Scientific Name: Input field for the scientific name of the family type.
- Description: Text area for a detailed description.
- Action Button
- Add Family Type: Saves the new family type to the list. All fields are mandatory.
How to Use #
Viewing Family Types #
- Navigate to the Family Type tab within the Supplier Management > Raw Material module.
- View the existing family types listed in the table.
Adding a New Family Type #
- Click on the Add Family Type button.
- Fill in the form fields:
- Enter the Type Name.
- Provide the Scientific Name.
- Write a Description.
- Click on Add Family Type to save the entry.
Editing a Family Type #
- Click the Edit (First Action) button for the desired family type.
- Modify the Name, Description, or Scientific Name in the form.
- Save the changes.
Deleting a Family Type #
- Click the Delete (Second Action) button for the desired family type.
- Confirm the deletion in the confirmation prompt.
Notes #
- Ensure unique Type Names to avoid duplication.
- Descriptions should be concise yet informative to help users understand the family type.
- Deletion of a family type is irreversible. Double-check before confirming.
